Essentia Health, Duluth, MN, is one of sixteen new sites expanding the reach of PCORnet® Clinical Research Networks (CRNs). PCORnet users can now tap into Essentia Health's population of rural, older adults.
Sixteen new sites are expanding the reach of the eight PCORnet® CRNs, and we’re spotlighting how each addition is poised to support national-scale patient-centered CER. This issue, we feature Essentia Health in Duluth, MN, which includes a population of rural, older individuals now available for research studies powered by PCORnet®.
Available Now! Read the PCORnet Maternal Morbidity and Mortality Public Query Report
A new query report of the PCORnet® CRNs identified demographic characteristics of more than 1.5 million newborn deliveries. The query included demographic characteristics of people experiencing complications and death including maternal race, ethnicity, and severe maternal morbidity and detailed specific unexpected outcomes of labor and delivery as well as outcomes that occurred up to 30 days postpartum. This report can help researchers better understand the data available through PCORnet® CRNs.
In Case You Missed It: PCORnet Leaders Highlight Transformative Research at ARM 2024
The AcademyHealth Annual Research Meeting (ARM) 2024 was a dynamic platform to showcase the standout features of PCORnet and how this multi-stakeholder ecosystem has boosted researchers' ability to conduct national-scale CER. In an engaging panel session, "Multi-Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration: What We’ve Learned from Patient-Centered Research Using PCORnet," panelists explored real-world examples that illuminate how research teams are using PCORnet to accelerate patient-centered insights, ultimately enhancing clinical care.
Can Repurposed Drugs Speed Alzheimer’s Solutions? Researchers are Using PCORnet to Find Out
Using data from sites in two PCORnet® CRNs, a PCORnet® Study team is exploring whether drug repurposing can be used to better understand and treat Alzheimer’s disease, the sixth leading cause of death in the United States.
PCORI is accepting abstracts for commentaries, empirical papers, case studies, and methodological papers, focused on uses of PCORnet®. Find details about the special issue.
This special issue will highlight case studies and empirical findings that illustrate the benefits and value of using PCORnet and the lessons learned from experiences across the network using PCORnet to conduct patient-centered CER and other health research. The special issue also will outline future opportunities to use PCORnet to accelerate progress towards an integrated learning health system, and advance health outcomes.
Abstracts must be submitted by October 7, 2024, at 5:00 pm ET to [email protected].
