The Coordinating Center for PCORnet®

The Coordinating Center for PCORnet® is the organizational and communication hub of PCORnet. It offers services to investigators and research teams, patient and community partners, and the public. These services maximize coordination and accessibility of the PCORnet infrastructure.

Examples of the services provided by the Coordinating Center include:

  • Stewarding PCORnet governance policies to promote the privacy and security of patient data;
  • Monitoring data quality and regularly updating the PCORnet® Common Data Model to ensure the highest-quality real-world data are available for PCORnet® Studies;
  • Promoting the highest standard of patient engagement in research using PCORnet, with patient and community leaders who provide guidance for research;
  • Facilitating connection among the many experts in the Clinical Research Networks (CRNs) to support research collaboration and provide opportunities for the CRNs to participate in research studies, and
  • Publicly reporting information on PCORnet® Studies, the PCORnet infrastructure, and the capacity and capabilities of PCORnet.

Collaboration is key to the success of PCORnet® Studies. That’s why the Coordinating Center works to connect patients, researchers, and PCORnet® CRNs through shared communications, meetings, and initiatives. The Coordinating Center’s mission is to strengthen the unity, impact, and ongoing improvement of PCORnet.
